Box Description The King of the many peoples is dead, and their god, Blue Moon, has left them. The royal heirs quarrel, and chaos reigns in the holy Blue Moon City. It is the Night of Doom. Players take opposing sides and lead one of the many peoples into battle. Each player uses different character, booster, support, and leadership cards to win the three elemental dragons to his side. Only then will peace be restored. In this base game, the cunning Hoax meet the fiery Vulca, each with their own strengths and special abilities. The god Blue Moon has deserted the world and plunged it into chaos. Blue Moon City is in ruins and its people have fallen into open war. Multiple factions seek to appease Blue Moon and hasten his return by currying the favor of the three dragons of elemental power. In the ruins of the great city, the ingenious Hoax seek to dominate through their mechanical inventions, while deep below ground, the fiery Vulca wield the molten force of the heart of the world. On the craggy mountaintops, the birdlike Flit watch the struggle unblinkingly, waiting for the right moment to make their move. And in the secret heart of the forest, the beautiful but wild Mimix sharpen their spears. This is Blue Moon, the new non-collectible card game from Reiner Knizia. Blue Moon is fast-paced and easy to learn. Each player plays with a 30-card deck, representing one of the factions vying for control of the three elemental dragons. Each card is oversized, allowing more space to show off the artistic detail. Each turn, the players battle for control of the dragons, playing characters or other helpful cards from their deck, and imbuing their characters with greater and greater power, in order to overwhelm their opponent and force a retreat. In the advanced game, players have the option of building their own deck, constructing a powerful multi-faction alliance. The basic set provides all the materials needed to play Blue Moon, including the races of the fiery VULCA and the clever HOAX, as well as a gorgeous game board, full-color rules, and three plastic dragon figures. Also available: The FLIT expansion deck, and the MIMIX expansion deck. Blue Moon is the German board game event of the year. Do not miss its power! From the Blue Moon Games website... In Blue Moon you take control over one of the peoples of the world Blue Moon. Your aim is to attract the three elemental dragons in direct confrontation against one of the other peoples. To achieve this goal, each round one of your characters is sent to fight against one of your opponent‘s characters. Each people has various sources of support and boosters available, to finally enforce the enemy to withdraw and, by doing so, to attract one or more dragons. As the leader of your people you can also intervene directly. The basic game contains the 'Hoax' and the 'Vulca'. Right now there are also two seperate sets available: The 'Mimix' and the 'Flit'. More seperate people sets are currently in preparation: 'Terrah', 'Aqua', 'Pillar' and 'Khind'. You decide which people you want to play and are ready to confront any other people instantly. Blue Moon is not a trading card game, each people set is complete and ready to play. There are no rare, hard to get, extreme powerful cards, but Blue Moon is still a very flexible game system. Special rules for advanced players are already included that allow players to use cards of other peoples with their chosen people. Every card has a printed value (moons). Both players are allowed to use cards of other peoples than the chosen one with a sum not higher than 10 moons in addition to their own people.
