Box Description The Turning Point Twice, Japan's poker-playing Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto gambled his country's future in the waters off Hawaii. The attack on Pearl Harbor stunned the U.S. Pacific Fleet, but sparked furious anger among the Americans. Seven months later, the Japanese tried to lure the Americans into a pitched battle at Midway. American fliers sank four Japanese carriers and broke the Combined Fleet's power. In one afternoon, the war turned against Japan. Players plot the movement of their task forces and the launch of air strikes in advance. When opposing forces meet play moves to the tactical map, where combat is resolved. Scenarios recreate the historical battles as well as the what-if battles that could have occurred in the Central Pacific in 1942.
